During the spring of 1986, The Council on Alcohol & Drug Abuse (CADA), sponsored a group of adults from various backgrounds and professions, who shared a common bond, parenthood, to attend the P.R.I.D.E. Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon their return four members of this group, Wendy Lambert, Judith Burgess, Vaughn Harvey and Diana Corday, decided to establish a similar organization locally, P.R.I.D.E. Bermuda.
Over the past twenty-one years P.R.I.D.E. Bermuda has grown steadily in size and effectiveness. With programs aimed in reaching both adults and youth, P.R.I.D.E. Bermuda is educating, empowering, and inspiring the community to take an active role in the prevention of drug use.
P.R.I.D.E. advocates a community approach in drug prevention. No institution can solve the drug problem alone. Businesses can't, Government can't, Schools can't, Parents can't . . . but together we can. We invite you to join in helping stem the epidemic of drug abuse in our society by completing the membership form included in this booklet and mailing it to the address indicated.
